Performing companies

Senior company

Our Senior Company welcomes students in grades 8–12 of all experience levels who are passionate about performing, learning, and growing on stage.

This company focuses on developing skills in dance, drama, and vocal performance while building confidence and stage presence in a supportive, creative environment. Senior Company students perform in the majority of productions each show, gaining valuable experience in live theatre while learning both artistic and life skills. Through rehearsals and performances, students strengthen leadership, time management, public speaking, and collaboration — skills that serve them long after the curtain falls.

Meeting two days per week and two Saturdays per month, members receive consistent, hands-on training designed to inspire creativity, teamwork, and self-expression.

At Charleston Youth Company, we believe every student deserves a place to shine. Our program encourages confidence, creativity, and connection, helping young performers in the Charleston area find their voice — whether they’re stepping on stage for the first time or continuing to refine their craft.

stagecraft & Tech company

The Charleston Youth Company’s Stagecraft & Tech Company invites students in grades 6–12 to explore the art of theatre production and design. Under the mentorship of experienced theatre professionals and master craftsmen, students volunteer their creativity and time on weekends to build, design, paint, and create the sets and effects that bring every performance to life.

Members of the Stagecraft & Tech Company gain hands-on experience in construction, stagecraft, prop making, lighting, and sound operation, while also serving as the deck crew during performances. This program offers a behind-the-scenes perspective on theatre and teaches valuable real-world skills in leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, and time management.

At Charleston Youth Company, we believe that the magic of theatre happens both onstage and off. The Stagecraft & Tech Company gives students the opportunity to learn, create, and contribute to every show in a meaningful way.
